Julius  Christ  and Jesus Caesar

Both Jesus and Caesar enter similarly named cities at the beginning of their careers . Caesar enters Corfinium , and the Gospel translation transposes it to Cafarnaum which Jesus entered.
 

 Caesar finds Corfinium occupied {obsessus in Latin} by an enemy and attacks him. Jesus finds a man possessed {obsessus in Latin} by a Demon and exorcizes it..
 

 Caesar engages in somewhat clandestine nocturnal meetings with Nicomedes of Bithynia -- Jesus engages in somewhat clandestine nocturnal meetings with Nicodemus of Bethania.
 

 Lepidus [pronounced lay pete us] became a successor of Caesars, as pontifex maximus of the Divus Julius cult. Peter became a successor of Jesus as pontifex maximus [Pope] of the Christian Cult.  [At the age of 37 Juluis Caesar was Pontifex Maximus ]

 There are numerous more linguistic similarities, as well as sequential coincidence between the two stories. Some are not as blatant as others, while some actually are laughable.

Immaculate Conception

 That an Immaculate conception is claimed for Jesus is well documented , but in actuality an Immaculate conception was also claimed for Caesar.

  I have seen parroted all over the web that the mother of Caesar was Cronis Celestine, this error probably originates in Kersey Graves The World's Sixteen Crucified Saviors. The mother of Caesar was Aurelia Cotta who died when Julius was young.   Julia Caesaris is the official name of all women in the Caesares  family, which Julius Caesar and Caesar Augustus both belonged.

 The cult of Divus Julius preached that Julius Caesar was immaculately conceived, being the son of a virgin and begotten by the Father of all Gods, Jupiter [Although some accounts use Apollo, and still others have him being the son of Venus]. His heir and nephew, Augustus Caesar, was divinely his half brother, a son of Jove, by whose divine lust he was conceived by immaculate rape in the temple of Apollo.

 The Egyptian pharaohs were considered to be "the word of God become flesh" or incarnations of the Egyptian Logos/God ,Horus. By making this claim the pharaohs were able to acquiesce a Divine right to rule, they considered themselves not only answerable to God and God alone, but to in essence be a God become flesh.

 This practice morphed through successive societies where Monarchs and rulers throughout the ages seized upon variations of this theme placing themselves and their offspring in a royal pantheon .

 A cult of Messiah developed about Alexander the Great, he was claimed to be born of a Virgin and having had no Earthly father, although it was well known that Phillip of Macedonia was his Earthly father.

 Julius Caesar as well as Augustus Caesar continued this practice. And the Hebrew/Roman Messiah/King Jesus was no different, he was the Immaculately conceived son of the Hebrew God  Yehovah.

The Caesars Re Invent Jesus

 Joseph Atwill in Caesar's Messiah : The Roman Conspiracy to Invent Jesus presents a controversial theory that the conventional views of Christian origins are wrong. Atwill presents a strong case that the Christian Gospels were actually written under the direction of first-century Roman emperors for the purpose of establishing a peaceful Jewish sect to counterbalance the militaristic Jewish forces that had just been defeated by Rome, and were being scattered throughout the Roman Empire in the Diaspora. 

 Other scholars have presented the theory that Jesus, the Hebrew Jesus that is , was actually a militant revolutionary [ See : The Historical Jesus} and that the Gospel narratives are veiled allegories, not the actual historical accounts.

 The Jewish War, culminating in the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem in 70 AD, devastated the Mediterranean economy, and the Romans were were wary of another messianic outbreak.  In order to make any reconstruction of the Empire lasting, the Romans needed to offer the Jews alternate stories allegedly steeped in Judaism that would distract them from the militant and nationalistic messianic messages inherent in the Hebrew writings. Rome needed Jews to accept Roman values

 The saga of the militant Hebrew Jesus was in effect turned inside out , to favor Rome and counterbalance the Hebrew insurgency spreading throughout the Empire.
