Wunderwaffe
"English - wonder weapon" was a term assigned by the
Nazi propaganda ministry to revolutionary "superweapons".
Most of these weapons it is believed were only prototypes,
and never reached combat readiness till too late in
the War to have a decisive military effect.
The V-l and V-2 rockets, however saw
considerable deployment against Great Britain, and come from
the same pool of highly advanced armament concepts.
The Wunderwaffen failed to meet
their strategic objectives in Nazi Germany's favor at a time
when the war was already strategically lost. They did
however represent designs and prototypes that were in some
cases decades ahead of their time.
Credible speculation has arisen that
some higher echelon and sizeable elements of the Nazi
movement escaped along with highly advanced weapons and
technology establishing secret colonies in Antarctica, South
America, as well as extraterrestrial locales.
